Five years ago, today, I was biking to the golf course when I decided to 'try something new'
and took a left turn at West 10th Street in front of the O'Henry Middle School.
At Exhibition Boulevard, I had a heart attack.
I face planted, banged my head and chipped this tooth.
Somebody...stepped forward.. started CPR and continued until EMS got there.
EMS shocked me twice with the 'cattle prods' and put me in the van.
"I was as purple as a Smurf"
At the hospital, I was put into 'Deep Freeze'... my body temperature lowered, for 5 days, while Doctors decided if... I was a candidate for a quadruple by pass thru open heart surgery.
"I was a goner."
After my stay in the hospital I passed out theses flyers in the neighborhood and contacted the media.
'Victim Seeks Angels'... You can still look it up.
After a couple of days, I got a phone call...
"Hi, I'm Mark Knight. I am your Angel. I apologize for cracking your ribs."
"Dude. Forget the ribs. You saved my LIFE."
Puppies look cuter.
Cut Grass smells sweeter.
Blue Bell Ice Cream tastes Fantastic.
I go outside and feel the rain.
And moments with family and new friends...most cherished.
Every morning I say...
"God Bless Mark Knight. You are an Angel,"
