Katy said she was starting a new job on Monday and asked me.
"What does it take be successful?"
I said.
"Katy. My advice is free. But if you like it...$1"
"Okay."
I proceeded.
"Success is not comparing yourself to others...
'that person is successful because he has a Mercedes or a big house with a pool'. Success is setting your own goals and trying to achieve them.
If you wish to be a Doctor and you become a Doctor you are a success. Or a lawyer. Or run your own business. Or you want a family. You are a success."
Katy nodded.
"If you compare yourself to others you will never be happy. Take a look at fashion magazines and how they glamorize women. It is only natural to compare yourself when in fact...you are perfect the way you are.
Men have it difficult. Every milestone birthday...25...30...35...40...45..men compare themselves to other men....'where is my Mercedes...my big house...my jet plane...'
You must have perseverance...determination and never give up.
You need three things in life to be successful.
>Some thing to do...
>Someone to love...
>A dream.
If you have those three things you are a success."
She nodded.
"That will be a $1"
